Buddhist monks have to follow 227 very strict rules. One of the biggest rules is they may not come in contact or be in the same room alone with the opposite gender. Buddhist monks wake up at 4:00 am and meditate for two hours, than they walk barefoot and locals make a merit by giving the monks food. Monks meditate for at least 4 hours a day. Meditating does not reduce stress for them, it changes the way they think and the way their brain functions and perceives things.
